Why Use Phased Array?

​

Phased Array offers superior imaging techniques and a high level of reproducible results that minimizes human error compared to other ultrasonics. Phased Array also allows for enhanced coverage of a given component or weld from fixed and multiple positions including achieving beam coverage on complex geometries where conventional ultrasonic techniques were inadequate. Some of the many applications for Phased Array are as follows:

 EDDY CURRENT TESTING

What is Eddy Current Testing and how does it work?

Eddy Current Testing (ECT) is a non-destructive testing method that uses electromagnetic induction to detect surface and near-surface flaws in conductive materials.

Here’s how it works:
A probe with a coiled conductive wire is energized with alternating current, producing a magnetic field. When the probe is brought near the test surface, eddy currents are induced within the material.

These eddy currents interact with the material’s structure, and any disruptions—like cracks or corrosion—affect their behavior. A data collection device reads and analyzes these changes, often displaying them in real-time graphs. Most testing systems are portable and can be connected to a computer for detailed visualization and analysis.
